Last Saturday, I did a practice TOEIC exam with my friend in school. My friend brought TOEIC textbook from Japan. We did it in quiet room and saw time as if it was real test. We wanted know our English skill. My score was little better than before, but it was still terrible. I didn’t know many words in this practice test. I have to review it and study vocabulary. We reviewed it together next day, and it needs long time. I couldn’t finish reviewing it in this day. This score says me that I have to study hard. We will do a practice exam again next week.

Values
I’m going to talk about my value.
My value ranking is below.
1. A comfortable life
2. An exciting life
3. Freedom
4. World peace
5. Family unity
6. Keeping harmony and balance in my
life
7. Wisdom
8. Developing myself to the fullest

A comfortable
life is the most valuable in my life. My purpose of life is happiness. I hope my

Free Hotdog and Swimming
I went to SHOPS AT NEW WEST last Sunday. Sponsor was Safeway in New Westminister. first, I met to my friends at New Westminister station, and looked around. There were a tent that served to free hot dods. We stood in a line and got hot dogs. I ate three these. After that, we went to swimming in Coquitlam city center. There is a water slider. It was exciting. I like sauna. There are two kinds of sauna (steam and dry sauna). We enjoyed sauna and talking. I was very tired when we finished swimming because we swam a lot and spent a long time. I enjoyed last weekend.
Any Regrets
I’m going go to talk about my regrets. I wish I practiced
badminton my best when I joined badminton club in junior high school. I
practiced lazy many times. I like real game and practice using racket and
shuttle, but I don’t like running and muscle training. I usually walked or run
slowly in running time. If I practiced hard, I would win match more. Also, I
regret I didn’t study hard. I studied almost every day high school, but I
didn’t do my best. I want to study math, Japanese history, world history, and biology
now. I wish I studied hard when I was a high school student because I had a
time more than now. Finally, I wish I studied English more before I came to
Canada. It is the biggest one in my regrets. I don’t have many vocabulary and
good listening skill. I wish I studied English hard and watched English movie.
I don’t want to regret any more, so I will do my best every day from now.

Communication Breakdowns
I’m going to
talk about communication breakdowns. I have a home stay friend. She is Brazilian.
She is studying English too, so we are hard to understand each other’s word. She
invited me party, bowling, shopping and so on. At first, I went to with her. I didn’t
go with her when I was tired or busy. Therefore, she thought that I was angry
for her. I heard her thinking from my friend. I didn’t notice that she was sad.
I was surprised to it and wanted to apologize her. I talked to her that I was not
angry, and she understood what I said. I will say reason for refusing when I don’t
go with her in order to avoid misunderstanding.

Homework and Dinner
Last Sunday, I did homework with my friend. The homework of
listening was difficult for me, so we did it together. However, we couldn’t
finish it. Then we went to our friends’ house and they helped us. They
never mentioned answer but gave us hints. We could understand homework. We
appreciated them because we needed about five hours finishing that
assignment. They helped long time. Then we went to dinner. We ate Korean food
and that was very good. I don’t know dish’s name that I ate. That food included
noodle but serviced with rice. I like Korean food, and I like spicy food, so I
want to go there again.

Making Friends
I’m going to show that how to make friends at Douglas College.
First, talk with classmate. The level of English between you and your
classmates are almost same. Maybe, you can talk with classmates without
tension. You will spend long time in your class, so you are easy to make
friends. Next, join clubs or activities. There are a lot of opportunities that
meet new people. People in same clubs or activities have similar interest, and
it makes you to continue conversation. Making friends is very difficult for
newcomer. However, it’s important in order to grow up your English level and
spend good time. I hope my advice will help you.
